Rådasand
Rådasand is a swedish company that extracts sand from Råda Ås at Lidköping. The sand is primarily used for iron foundries and within the builing industry.
Background
Rådasand has invested in a robot palletizing system and a new bigbag filler from PanPac Engineering, and the result is very satifying: Increased capacity and optimization of productivity.
At the factory in Lidköping the sand is filled into bigbags, and since one of the existing bigbag fillers needed to be replaced, Rådasand chose a new solution from PanPac. According to Rådasand’s site manager, Jonas Thim, the factory had two older systems. One bigbag filler had to be replaced, and the existing palletizing system needed to be complemented with a bag filler and a new palletizing system in order to handle the coarse fragments in the sand.

Installation
“The actual installation went really good”, explains Jonas Thim, and after some adjustments with a stretch film wrapper during a test run, the system was ready to start up in time in the new facilities. ”The new filler has a higher capacity than the old one, and that gives us better conditions for taking in new customers”, says Jonas Thim.

PanPac had a very simple and good solution to the layout, as we had very little space. Besides, we have an existing palletizing robot from PanPac Engineering, which we have been very pleased with, and with the service we spotted a total solution.

Effect
To Rådasand it means that the personnel is working more efficiently, and the working environment has improved as well. In this way, the investment in the new palletizing system has increased both capacity and productivity at Rådasand. ”The cooperation with PanPac has been really good during the entire project. It feels good and safe to have one and same person from PanPac, that follows the entire building process,” ends Jonas Thim.
